The transmission solenoid is an electronically controlled hydraulic valve located inside the automatic transmission valve body.
Depending on the transmission application, this 77942 solenoid is used to control specific hydraulic circuits related to torque converter clutch operation, pulse-width modulation, or 3-2 downshift control.
In selected 4L60E applications, the 77942 solenoid may function as the 3-2 downshift solenoid or TCC / PWM solenoid depending on year and transmission configuration.
In selected 4T65E applications, this solenoid is commonly used in the TCC / PWM circuit.
The TCC / PWM system helps regulate torque converter clutch apply pressure and engagement.
